Troubled Barts appoints new chair
London housing association chief Ian Peters has been appointed permanent chair of troubled Barts Health NHS Trust.
Peters will step down from chairing London housing association Family Mosaic to take up his new role at the UK's largest NHS trust from 1 April.
The hospital remains in special measures and is significanty in debt due to its private finance initiative (PFI) commitment.
The new chair has worked in financial services and energy. He is a trustee and treasurer of Carers UK as well as being involved with a number of small technology companies.
Peters succeeds Alastair Camp, acting chair since October 2016. Camp will continue in his role as vice chair.
